1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames Part II

1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames Part II

The manual of the Gundam Dynames has you starting the build at the chest area. I noticed that my model builds slows down whenever I come against a decision on what paint color to use. This time it was the main green color of the Gundam Dynames.

According to the color guide that is supposed to be a mixture of daytona green, black and white. I couldn't find any good green color of Pylox paints that was similar to the color of the Dynames, so I went instead with the available Dark Green. Its starting to look like the Gundam Cherudim with this paint scheme, hehehe. These are the times I wish I could afford a compressor for an airbrush... hehehe

One other problem I am facing is that I am running out of plastic primer paint. I only have one can left and the hardware store I bought it from ran out of it already. God knows when they'll have it in stock again, or if ever they'll stock it again. Since I wanted to save that can of primer for the 1/60 Gundam Exia, I went instead with ordinary primer paint.

The primer works because the paint doesn't remove easily, but another problem I found with it is that it is colored grey, when you prime it on parts that are supposed to be colored white, the final white comes out much darker compared to if you had primed it with a white colored primer. Same goes with other colors, they come out much darker then when you are using a white colored primer... bleehhhh.

Now that is a new lesson learned for me today, that the base color can affect the final color of the product. I wish they had that plastic primer in stock already because I don't want to be having to spray a layer of white paint over the parts just so that I can get that lighter tone on my parts.

Part I of this build series can be found here. While Part III can be found here.
