1/72 RVF-25 Messiah Valkyrie Luca Angeloni version English Color Guide
Update: Translated English Construction Manual for the 1/72 RVF-25 Messiah can be found here.
Luca Angeloni's RVF-25 from Macross Frontier was made into a 1/60 DX Chougoukin toy and a 1/72 transforming model kit by Bandai. I'd like to think that the RVF-25 was designed to pay homage to the VE-1 Elint Seeker from Macross DYRL. Compared to the weaponless Elint Seeker, the RVF-25 has offensive armaments and 3 armed Ghost drones.
Aside from a reconnaissance platform the RVF-25 was also depicted as having electronic warfare capabilities, such as jamming systems that prevented the enemy Vajra units from communicating via their fold systems.
With the way Luca named his Ghost drones: John, Peter and Simon all who were followers of Jesus, you can't help but think that there was a certain religious inspiration to the Macross Frontier series. What with the VF-25 being named "Messiah" and its rival the VF-27 being named "Lucifer"
The 1/72 RVF-25 Messiah model kit is selling for 4,250 yen at Amiami, 5220 yen at HWjapan, 5510 yen at Hobby Search and 5800 yen at Hobby Link Japan.
Color Guide can be found at the next page. Color Guide was translated from the manual posted at Dalong.
