Alien vs Predator Figures by McFarlane Toys
Got these figures in 2004 but never really got to opening them. These were from the Alien vs Predator movie that was made into collectible figures by Todd MacFarlane Productions. I had to take them out from storage as the place they were stored in was being pummeled by the summer heat. Their age is really showing from the yellowish tinge of the plastic container.
I got these from abroad when my company sent me overseas for a few months. Aside from a network router this was the only other thing I had bought for myself. Not much money on my wallet at that time as I was busy saving up for my marriage. The figure above is the Celtic Predator. He was my most favorite predator design at that time. When I bought this I haven't seen the movie yet so I was basing the figures I would like to buy on the trailers that I saw.
This here was the Elder Predator, he kinda headed the hunting party that the other predators were in.
No need to introduce this guy, he's your average cannon fodder xenomorph
This guy was the Scar Predator, he was the main "alien" protagonist of the show. Speaking of Alien, now that the Predators franchise decided to do a reboot and return to its "roots" by way of the Predators movie last year. I wish that the Alien franchise would do a reboot and return to its roots.
If ever they do this I wish they would set the movie timeline right after Alien Resurrection and throw in some space marines. Then again, maybe right after Alien3 would be better and just do away with Ripley...hmmm? That was one aspect I wish they would expand on, which is the military capability of that time.
The second movie, Aliens has always been my favorite. Because nothing appeals to me more than the concept of going all out in a fight. No more handicaps of being locked alone and having to make your own weapons when going up against the big bad alien. Now its just a numbers game that will determine who the victor is.
Its no surprise then that I'm a StarCraft fan, because the storyline and concept of the Terrans and Zerg races takes so much from the movie that I don't have to be a Blizzard insider to take note of it.
