GI Joe Cobra Ferret ATV
Cobra Ferret from the GI Joe Real American Hero Toy line that came out in 1985. This is a Cobra All Terrain Vehicle that came with no figure. According to the literature in the manual, the Cobra Ferret is powered by a 16 valve liquid cooled 115 HP 4 Cycle Fender Engine with 6 Forward speed transmission. It also has a free floating suspension that was implemented in the toy design.
The tires in this toy are made of molded rubber and after more than 26 years with me seem melted. I'm afraid that they might be brittle and could easily be torn so as much as possible I try to avoid touching it least they be damaged.
Side slug electric CMF-1 10 round launcher found at the left side of the Cobra Ferret.
Small Compartment at the back with the cover removed
0.50 caliber machine according to the assembly manual mounted at the front. The great thing about this is that the gun turns when you turn the steering wheel
Xamot figure added for size reference. The toy of course doesn't come with this though. The handle bars are quite large to fit the hands of the figures through.
According to the manual, these are Laser-seeking "com-bat" rockets. These go on the side of the Cobra Ferret
Key learning from this toy is rubber makes for realistic tires but in the long run they turn brittle, best to stick with plastic when making tires.
