Kotobukiya Frame Arms 1/100 Type 38 Model 1 Ryurai Kai English Manual & Color Guide

1/100 scale Type 38 Model 1 Ryurai Kai by Kotobukiya for their original series line dubbed as Frame Arms. The Ryurai Kai is a heavily armored artillery piece that is based off the Type 32 frame.

Actually this model kit can be assembled as either the Type 38 Model 1 Ryurai Kai or as the Type 32 Gourai. The difference being that the latter doesn't have the long piece artillery and the side shields. It has however tank tracks in place of the normal recoil stoppers found at the back of the leg.

The design of the twin cannons of the Ryurai Kai remind me so much of the infamous German 88mm cannon during World War II that made life hell for the American GI's during the European Campaign of World War II. It was a very feared gun because of its caliber and multi functionality. Aside from being an artillery piece, it also functioned as an anti-aircraft flak gun and an anti-tank cannon, chiefly because it could depress its barrel to below the horizontal position.
