In case you were wondering what the meaning of those other Japanese characters written around your basic Bandai color guide (example above) found in the manual were.
Water based paint (over enamel and lacquer) was always recommended for model kits because of health issues that are associated with prolonged use and inhalation. Even with that, I'd still recommend using a particle respirator mask when painting model kits using water based paints.
Another thing pointed out by the instructions is to not paint over the ABS parts as paint can easily damage them. Good masking of parts should be done if it can't be helped to not install the ABS part in during painting.
