GI Joe Roadblock Action Figure
Released in 1984 by Hasbro is the 3.75 inch Roadblock figure from GI Joe Real American Hero. Roadblock was always one of my most favorite characters from the cartoon series. Chiefly because I liked his disposition and the rhyming nature of his speech. Helped too that he carried a Browning 0.50 cal as a weapon *snicker*.
It wasn't till 1985 that Hasbro was able to release figures which were able to tilt their heads upwards by placing the head on a ball joint design. Since this Roadblock figure wasn't released till then it lacked the ability to do that.
Detailed pouches can be seen on the chest webbing of the roadblock figure along with a hand grenade.
Detail of the a knife seen at the right leg of the roadblock figure.
Detail of small back up pistol seen at the left leg

I don't know, but I always thought that there was something wrong with the sculpt of the head of this first generation Roadblock figure. Hasbro released an all new Roadblock figure in 1986 and that had a better head and body sculpt.
Aside from the helmet that the figure wore, the toy also came with what looked like a .50 Caliber machine gun with back pack and tripod.
Although the sculpt looks like a 0.50 Caliber, I always thought that its size matched more the 0.30 caliber machine gun
Either way, the sculpt of Roadblock's machine gun was truly fantastic
I just loved the amount of detail that the sculptor put in this toy. I often wondered however why the lower part of the machine gun was warped. Must have been a problem with either the sculpt of casting of the gun.

The tripod was designed so that it could be mounted at the backpack for carrying.
There was a block part at the backpack that could be detached. I could never understand what this was for.
Some shots of Roadblock with his weapon and accessories on.
