Real Steel's Atom by ThreeA up for Pre-Order already
From ThreeA comes Atom from the 2011 Real Steel Movie that starred Hugh Jackman. I was actually surprised that the movie did well at the box office, considering the overused premise of an robot winning it all. The effects and realism in the movie was something to behold however. Then again, I grew up in the movie age where there were no computer generated effects and most of all effects were composite work, so it doesn't really take much to impress me *snicker*
According to ThreeA this figure will be available for pre-order already at their Bambaland site. If that option isn't available to you, I already saw this up for pre-order in some other shops.
Judging from the pictures alone and the action poses in the said pictures, the amount of articulation incorporated into Atom is quite impressive.
What is also really amazing is how ThreeA was able to replicate the weathering and battle damage into the figure. Having built model kits myself, I know how difficult it is to recreate the look of steel, rust and dirt into a scale model. This isn't a toy, it's a work of art.
